The design lead will play a vital role in delivering both electronic and physical security systems design packages. Youll collaborate closely with our BIM/CAD Technicians and the technical team throughout the process, confidently guiding cross-discipline coordination and making informed decisions as client documentation evolves. Its important to ensure that everything aligns perfectly with baseline requirements. Responsibilities
* Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the client, with a clear understanding of project nuances and expectations
* Identify and resolve design issues, offering solutions and improvements
* Approach the project, considering client requirements, installation efficiencies, and overall delivery impact
* Produce base "spots and dots" design layouts
* Conduct detailed ironmongery reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Coordinate with other architectural engineering teams, such as Telecoms, to gather and clarify cross‑discipline requirements
* Proactively drive the project forward by defining information needs, timelines, and dependencies
* Work closely with the BIM manager/lead to align on backgrounds, layouts, cable measurements, duct routing, and other model‑related details
* Act as the primary point of contact for all security‑related queries
* Interpret and adapt to evolving client documentation and design direction
* Ensure local regulatory and project‑specific requirements are incorporated into the design
* Perform design validation and drawing reviews, identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies
* Demonstrate strong understanding of design matrices and other key technical design components
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience as a Security Project Engineer in a Data Centre setting
* Familiarity with CAD is a plus, and experience with Revit would be ideal
* Proficient in Excel and Outlook
* Excellent technical skills and a knack for solving problems
* You should be able to work independently and manage your time effectively
* Strong problem‑solving abilities and a commitment to high standards, with careful attention to detail
* Great communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration across teams
