You will work closely with pupils with special educational needs, including SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs, using sport and physical activity as a tool to engage, motivate, and support their development. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for sports who are considering a career in education, youth work, or coaching.
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach or Sports Graduate to join a specialist SEN school in Bury. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for someone looking to use their sporting background to support and inspire young people with additional needs.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and support sports sessions and physical activities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
* Promote positive behaviour and engagement through structured activities
* Assist teaching staff in lessons and classroom management
* Build strong relationships with pupils to support their social and emotional development
* Encourage teamwork, confidence, and resilience
Qualifications
* A background in sports, coaching, or a related degree
* Experience working with children or young people (desirable)
* A proactive, energetic, and resilient attitude
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
