We are looking for a dedicated Medical Secretary with a passion for making a difference to others. You'll be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday‑Friday) helping ensure the safe and smooth running of services for the people in our care. This is a 6‑month Fixed Term Contract.
Cygnet Bury Hudson provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men, including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder. Each service user has a bedroom with en‑suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.
Your day‑to‑day
* Manage diary arrangements and prepare relevant papers for meetings.
* Maintain a good working relationship with clinicians and caring professionals.
* Attend and take minutes at a variety of clinical meetings, hearings and tribunals.
* Produce high‑quality admission and discharge summaries and tribunal reports.
* Attend ward rounds with the multi‑disciplinary team and patients, take accurate minutes, summarise discussions and note related actions, and ensure ward round summaries are saved in a timely manner on the electronic patient information system.
* Create and maintain patient records and paper files.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is
* Service orientated, with Medical Secretary experience and knowledge of mental health.
* Flexible, adaptable, organised and responsible.
* An excellent typist, ideally RSA 2 level with audio transcription skills.
* Calm under pressure and able to work independently and as part of a team.
* A strong written and verbal communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word and databases.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
