Clinical Support Worker Higher Level – Workington Community Nurses
Location: Workington Community Hospital, Workington
Band: NHS AfC Band 3 – Salary £25,760 – £27,476 per annum (pro‑rated)
Contract: Permanent, Part‑time – 30 hours per week with daily shift patterns between 8:30 and 22:30. Weekend and bank holiday working is included.
Job overview
Working as part of the Workington Community Nursing Team, you will provide holistic care in the home environment, supporting patients across a broad range of clinical duties in a multi‑disciplinary setting.
Main duties of the job
* Carry out clinical observations and record patient information.
* Perform catheterisation, venepuncture, wound care and support diabetic caseload.
* Work under the direction of a registered health care professional to deliver high‑standard patient care.
* Collaborate with the wider health and social care team to integrate care services.
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation, maintaining confidentiality and data protection.
* Support patients to maintain independence and promote holistic, person‑centred care.
* Use basic IT skills for electronic patient records and Trust systems.
Qualifications
* Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent in patient and clinical care duties.
* National Care Certificate, or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of employment.
* Numeracy and literacy at Level 2.
* Relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience working in health or social care.
* Experience recording clinical observations and recognizing changes.
* Understanding of legislation underpinning care provision and safeguarding.
* Awareness of GDPR, confidentiality, and NHS/social care policies.
* Experience within the Trust or similar setting is desirable.
