Micklefield depot, West Yorkshire coverage (Field based)

Telent are looking for an addition to the West Yorkshire region Traffic Engineering team due to growth and increased demand from our customers. We are looking for an experienced, Traffic Engineer who has a proven track record of maintaining and rectifying faults on Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lighting Systems. This is a field based role which will see you travel across the West Yorkshire region in all weather conditions.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, the successful Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer will be required to carry out maintenance works of Traffic Signals units / Traffic Light systems, detection boxes, Traffic Lights controllers, and get involved in planned maintenance and “switch off” activities. Additional duties may include the commissioning of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting equipment if or when required.
The successful Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer will also be required to liaise with the customer(s) on-site, to fault find, troubleshoot, and rectify various issues and problems with Traffic Signals / Traffic Light systems and units.
The Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer will need to be flexible to travel across the West Yorkshire region, covering areas such as Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale. You will also be required to be a part of an on-call standby rota of 1-in-4 weeks (covering weekends and night time call outs if and when required).

Follow all site specifications and ensure upkeep of quality and accuracy
Demonstrate a strong following of all Health & Safety policies and procedures and be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible
Apply proven Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting maintenance experience to assigned works across the West Yorkshire region
Work within the standard operating procedure, and follow scientific methods
Carry out planned Periodic Inspections of Traffic Signals / Traffic Light Systems
Attend reactive faults and planned periodic inspections as required by the contract(s)
Interrogate all types of Traffic Controllers (Traffic Signals Controllers) and carry out fault analysis under supervision of a Senior Traffic Engineer
Complete any maintenance works on Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights Systems in line with agreed schedules and SLA’s
Work outdoors in all-weathers, and attend the Micklefield depot from time to time
As the successful Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer, you will ideally have previous and/or current experience working with Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Light Systems, maintaining them against technical specifications and be proficient in a range of technical processes and procedures, through job-related training and experience. Electrical knowledge or equivalent Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lights maintenance experience
Strong knowledge of and experience with Traffic Controllers, Switches, Detection Boxes, and any associated equipment relating to Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lights
Full UK Driving Licence holder
