Role Overview
As a Branch Manager, you will support and oversee our branch in The Westbury area of England, ensuring performance is sustained at its current level and optimized for continuous growth. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and the correct implementation of company policies and procedures. You will lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve objectives.
Experience and Sector Knowledge
You should have extensive experience in a Builders' Merchant environment, either locally or nationally, managing large teams across various disciplines. Knowledge of sectors such as Timber, Roofing, Plumbing, and General Building is essential; civils background is advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
1. General: Manage special projects, support out-of-hours operations, act as a key holder, and handle customer complaints.
2. People Management: Lead and develop staff, manage staffing levels, conduct recruitment and inductions, oversee payroll, and handle disciplinary procedures.
3. Branch Performance: Oversee stock management, ensure delivery standards, develop supplier relationships, and make trading decisions within authorized limits.
4. Change and Improvements: Propose and implement operational changes, ensuring fairness and clear communication.
5. Health & Safety/Compliance: Ensure safety regulations are followed, liaise with authorities, monitor tachographs and driver hours, report incidents, and maintain compliance documentation.
