About the role
We are now expanding our team with skilled and enthusiastic individuals to deliver a tunnelling project in the beautiful region of Snowdonia, North Wales. Our work will significantly enhance the visual impact of the area, burying a network of overhead cables and removing a number of pylons to restore and protect the natural beauty, wildlife and environmental heritage of this precious landscape.
We are currently looking to recruit a Buyer to join our Procurement Team on a full time permanent basis.
You will be responsible for the procurement of materials, services and supporting the subcontract process by commercial teams, within the project, or section of the project. You must manage relationships with key Supply Chain Partners and manage Categories of Materials or Services as directed by the Commercial Director and procure overhead materials and services.
The role will require you to work with Heath, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) representatives to ensure all suppliers used are approved to the standards required by the Project and the Company in general.
You will assist in the development and maintenance of the Company's Procurement Strategy and Procurement Business Plan and develop and manage the supplier base to ensure it can meet the current and future objectives of the Company.
Please note that this role will be site based 5 days per week.
About you
It is essential that you have GSCE Grade 5 or above (A-C) in English and Maths and a minimum Level 2 certificate ideally progressing with CIPS.
You must have 1-3 years' experience in the Construction or Civil Engineering Industry and previous experience of working on NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
The role requires you to be able to demonstrate good supplier negotiation skills and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of SAP would also be desirable.
You will have good attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
