Overview:
We are working with a local authority seeking a skilled Housing Disrepair Lawyer. This role involves managing a caseload of disrepair claims, advising departments, and supporting litigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage pre-action and litigated housing disrepair claims from inception to resolution.
* Liaise with surveyors, housing officers, insurers, and external legal representatives.
* Prepare court bundles, witness statements, and legal pleadings.
* Provide legal advice on landlord responsibilities under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and related housing legislation.
* Attend court hearings and settlement meetings as required.
Requirements:
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive.
* Demonstrable experience handling housing disrepair claims.
* Public sector/local government experience preferred.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Weekly office attendance required.
