JOB TITLE: Senior Product Manager

LOCATION: Office
HOURS OF WORK: 8.30am - 5.00pm Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week
REPORTS TO: Head of Product
TEAM FUNCTION: Drive growth and improve profitability within specific product groups and markets.
ROLE PURPOSE: Act as the ‘CEO of the product’, owning the roadmap and strategy for assigned product groups. Develop market understanding through customer visits and trade events. Create value-based pricing and routes to market strategies to maximize growth and profitability. Collaborate across departments to manage products through their lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Define product vision, strategic objectives, and tactical plans focusing on product and pricing aspects.
2. Maintain a live product roadmap aligned with objectives and plans.
3. Lead cross-departmental focus groups to shape the product strategy.
4. Lead discovery, business case development, and launch of new products based on market evaluations.
5. Oversee product design, development, and operational readiness, ensuring specifications, timing, and quality standards are met.
6. Develop value propositions and set value-based pricing aligned with market segmentation.
7. Set and monitor financial performance goals, reporting on key trends and taking corrective actions as needed.
8. Collaborate with divisional directors to ensure accountability for product performance and pricing strategies.
9. Manage requests for product design changes and documentation updates.
10. Build business cases for product improvements, including cost reduction and compliance.
11. Work with marketing to provide technical content for product promotion.
12. Update internal stakeholders on product roadmaps regularly.
13. Deliver product training to sales teams and customers.
14. Approve engineering change requests considering cost, compliance, and quality impacts.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* Degree (Master’s preferred) in business, marketing, engineering, finance, or related fields; industry experience may substitute.
* At least 5 years’ experience in product management, engineering, or customer-facing roles.
* Knowledge of marketing frameworks like SOSTAC is desirable.
* Experience in manufacturing industries, especially building services and construction products, is beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Willingness to develop both commercial and technical product understanding.
