Job Title: PSV Shift TechnicianLocation: BuckinghamshireSalary: £54,578 per annum + benefitsHours per week: 42 hours per week 4 on, 4 off (07:00 - 19:00)The RoleWe are looking for a skilled Shift Technician to ensure our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations across our network.This is a hands-on role involving the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of buses, coaches, and vans, ensuring full compliance with all company and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair company vehiclesEnsure compliance with Company, Department for Transport, and DVSA standardsCarry out fault diagnosis using modern diagnostic equipmentResolve mechanical and technical issues efficiently and independentlyConduct road testing (subject to licence)Safely use and manage tools, equipment, and materialsMaintain accurate maintenance and compliance recordsTake ownership of personal tools and equipmentStay up to date with technical developments and support continuous improvementAdhere to all Health & Safety policies and safe working practicesWork collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholdersRepresent the company professionally at all timesAbout YouEssential:City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)Proven experience in HGV or PCV vehicle maintenanceStrong diagnostic and fault-finding abilityKnowledge of DVSA and Department for Transport standardsUnderstanding of Health & Safety and risk assessment practicesAbility to work independently and within a teamGood communication skillsFull UK manual driving licenceOwn hand tools Desirable:PCV licence (or willingness to obtain)Experience with bus bodyworkAutomotive electrical knowledgeIOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualificationExperience using vehicle diagnostic systemsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary of £54,57820 days annual leave + bank holidaysContributory pension schemeFree or discounted travelEmployee Assistance Programme
