About The Role

Balfour Beatty's projects offer more than just an opportunity to make your mark; they are a chance to stretch, test, and develop your expertise. Join our Living Places team as a Highways Operative - Traffic Management and deliver complex work that matters to our business and the world around us.

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of Highways Maintenance works, including routine and cyclical maintenance, minor civils, emergency attendance, making sites safe, and temporary/permanent repairs.

What you'll be doing

As a Highways Operative - Traffic Management, your responsibilities include:

1. Compliance with all statutory and company procedures, especially Health & Safety.
2. Carrying out a broad range of highway maintenance activities safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
3. Conducting operational activities to meet required quality standards.
4. Undertaking work according to agreed schedules.
5. Selecting and applying appropriate work methods to ensure first-time quality.
6. Ensuring work activities meet project requirements.
7. Utilising plant, equipment, or machinery effectively.

Who we're looking for

You Will Have The Following

* Prioritise health and safety.
* Be adaptable to changing situations.

* Be reliable.
* Be willing to learn.
* Listen and follow instructions.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

* NRSWA certification.
* First Aid certification.
* Lantra T1 and T2 qualifications.
* Experience in carriageway pothole/patch repairs, highway civils, or linear drainage.
