The role of Project Engineer As a Project Engineer at Trinity, you will be delivering the technical engineering of small and large projects, inclusive of installation, commissioning and programming. This is a pivotal role in ensuring projects are completed to Trinity’s high quality standards. • The commissioning of fire detection, and other associated systems, to ensure that the system meets the specified requirements for the project. • Liaise with the Project manager responsible for the delivery of the project. • Effectively communicate with customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status, particularly system defects that affect its correct function. • Provide technical support and guidance to allocated Engineers. The systems you will work with at Trinity Fire - Gent, Notifier, Advanced, Protec & other open protocol/conventional systems CCTV - HikVision, Avigilon, Dahua Intruder - Galaxy, Texecom Access Control - Paxton, Honeywell, Gallagher What skills do you need? • Able to commission a fire detection and alarm system in line with manufacturers recommendations. • To ensure that as installed drawings tally with the finished project and communicate any variances to the Project Manager. • Able to fully test every aspect of the installed system in line with manufacturers recommendations and the project specification. • Able to identify all types of cable associated with fire detection and alarm systems and to correctly test and terminate the cable ends in accordance with manufacturers instructions. • Able to develop and diagnose Cause and Effect software for the relevant control equipment, and to plan a full C & E test as part of the Commissioning process. • Demonstrates a logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification. What technical knowledge do you need? Understand the basic building services to test cause and effect of fire alarm interfaces. A comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire, intruder, CCTV and access control problems, including an ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as recommending changes to the systems.
