The Trainee Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects and day to day compliance of their respondent Division / Category Management in line with Company requirements.\n\n· Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company policies.\n\n· Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating terms and prices to achieve best value for the organisation.\n\n· Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and documentation in accordance with established procedures.\n\n· Resolve supplier disputes, damage clams and invoice queries promptly to minimise impact to supply chain and projects.\n\n· Source, evaluate, and select suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions to secure best value for the business.\n\n· Monitor market trends, material costs, and supply chain issues to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate risks to operations.\n\n· Maintain comprehensive records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.\n\n· Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical standards and sustainability objectives.\n\n· Liaise with other members of the production and commercial teams as necessary to ensure that high levels of internal and external customer service are provided.\n\n· Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier performance, and cost analysis for reporting and auditing purposes.\n\n· Ensure ongoing training and development both within industry / CPD and company led initiatives.
