We’re looking for a number of Test Technicians to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) team. Our Test Technicians carry out in depth testing and fault diagnosis of mechanical assemblies. The roles are based out of our Glasgow manufacturing site. You will work a 4‑day week Monday to Thursday and work 9.25 hours per day. Start time is flexible between 6:00 am and 7:30 am and you get 30 minutes unpaid for lunch. There is also free on‑site parking and an on‑site canteen.

Job Title: Test Technician – Manufacturing
Role: FTC (12 months)
Location: Glasgow
Hours: 4 day week Monday‑Thursday / 37 hours per week
What you’ll do…
* Ensure all incidents are logged correctly and escalated to H&S leaders as appropriate.
* Escalate health and safety issues to the Work Cell Manager.
* Perform complex manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation and quality standards in a timely and professional manner.
* Test, diagnose and repair various electronic systems and sub‑assemblies to component level.
* Adhere to the defined company processes when carrying out all tasks.
* Perform self‑assessment and approval of products.
* Input and support continuous improvement actions being worked on within industry.
* Detect any fault or non‑compliance and raise the alert. When possible contribute to diagnostics and root cause analysis.
* Manage and record build configuration of product.
* Use company tools (ERP, Palma, etc.) when carrying out product assembly tasks.
What you’ll need…
* Experience working in a production test department.
* An electrical/electronic qualification would be advantageous.
* Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and identify faults to component level.
* Ability to identify and carry out actions required with minimal supervision.
* PC literate in Microsoft Office tool set.
* Able to secure SC clearance with no restrictions.
In line with Thales' baseline security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full security clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
