Security Deputy Team Leader

The Opportunity
As Security Deputy Team Leader, you'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of security standards across our nuclear sites. Working closely with the duty Team Leader, you'll help ensure the integrity of our site security plans and compliance with regulatory requirements.
You'll lead and coordinate guard activities, optimise team resources, and take charge during critical site actions. This role involves day and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, and requires close collaboration with internal departments and external partners like the Civil Nuclear Constabulary.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary range associated with this role is between £39,543 - £48,186. You'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What You'll Be Doing
You'll ensure your team operates in line with security regulations and company policies, maintaining high standards and compliance. Supporting the Team Leader, you'll help ensure your team is suitably qualified and experienced to carry out their duties effectively.
You'll identify and address any deficiencies in physical security or systems, ensuring all entry procedures for people and vehicles meet regulatory standards. In emergencies, you'll respond swiftly and in accordance with established plans.
Maintaining accurate records, logs, and key registers will be part of your daily routine. You'll also liaise with external security bodies including the Civil Nuclear Constabulary and regulatory authorities to uphold our robust security culture.
Who You Are
You'll bring a solid educational foundation, ideally with GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including passes in English and Mathematics. Security Check (SC) vetting is essential for this role, and evidence of higher-level education or nationally recognised security qualifications would be a bonus.
Previous leadership experience and familiarity with Command and Control situations will serve you well. You'll need excellent communication skills to deliver a professional 'front of house' presence and demonstrate strong computer literacy to manage security systems effectively.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC) which will, ordinarily, require you to have British residency for the last 5 years.
