We're on the hunt for a creative and passionate Chef to join our small but mighty team at our independent public house in the heart of St Albans.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a close-knit, friendly environment and enjoys the freedom to get creative with a small, seasonal menu. We're not a chain, and we don't do cookie-cutter food — we want someone who can help us serve thoughtful, comforting dishes with a twist, using fresh, quality ingredients.

About the Role
* Sole responsibility in the kitchen, with support from the landlord and a small front-of-house team
* Design and deliver a tight, creative menu that includes vegan and vegetarian options as standard
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation
* Stock control and minimal waste are key — we like to keep things fresh and sustainable
* Contribute ideas for specials, events, and seasonal tweaks

* A confident chef who enjoys both working alone and collaborating with a small team
* Experienced in running a compact kitchen efficiently and calmly
* Comfortable planning and preparing plant-based dishes
* Organised, reliable, and genuinely passionate about food
* Ready to work weekends — with Mondays and Tuesdays off

A valid CIEH Level 2 award in food safety certificate (or above)
