Job Title: Senior Compliance Engineer
Location: Littlehampton, West Sussex
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum + annual bonus, private pension, and 30 days holiday
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Are you an experienced Compliance Engineer with ambitions to lead your own testing lab? This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compliance Engineer to join a rapidly growing, design-led manufacturing group based in Littlehampton. You’ll spearhead the setup and management of a new in-house compliance laboratory, reporting directly to the board and playing a key role in shaping the group’s long-term product and compliance strategy.
The Senior Compliance Engineer will be mentored by an industry veteran before taking full leadership of the facility. You’ll work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and product teams, providing compliance input on current and future projects while managing a portfolio of long-standing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and manage a new testing laboratory from the ground up.
* Provide compliance strategy and testing frameworks for new product developments.
* Deliver input on commercial strategy, product optimisation, and lab equipment procurement.
* Represent GBE at national and international trade events and industry conferences.
* Manage ongoing relationships with pre-compliance clients and internal stakeholders.
* Explore and influence the use of AI in compliance testing in collaboration with the in-house software team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 8 years’ experience as a compliance test engineer, ideally in a lab management capacity.
* Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Radio Communications or similar.
* Extensive knowledge of UK and EU compliance testing standards (EMC, CE, etc.).
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
