The role
Job Advert We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to join our Bangor team. This is a chance for you to develop your skills and experience, working alongside the Service Manager. In addition to undertaking managerial tasks, you will also work alongside support workers and act as a role model, demonstrating good practice to other members of the team with time spent on shift. You must have experience working in the care sector with people with learning disability/autism and/or behaviours that challenge. You will be supported by specialist bespoke training in advance to fully meet the needs of the people we support. This role will include: Supporting the Service Manager by undertaking agreed management tasks. Supporting and developing the staff team. Promoting a team culture where the team are confident in being accountable and making decisions. Supporting the team to be compliant in their induction and training. Undertaking effective and agreed My Mencap reviews and supervisions for team members. Leading on the review and implementation of support planning, risk assessment and evidence outcome based support. Contributing to and overseeing systems and records that support health and safety and maintenance of service environment as required. Contributing to the monitoring and completion of management reporting systems. Contributing to monitoring and completion of administration systems such as reviewing time sheets and in putting information into Office Base (kinetic) systems and invoice systems To be confident in being able to work using a computer and electronic systems. You will be required to demonstrate that you have developed enough skills and knowledge to be able to progress to a future Service Manager role. You will be required to work flexibly including working evenings and weekends. You should be competent in using IT and have a full UK drivers licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative forms of transport, should the applicant be unable to meet this criteria due to a disability. Candidates that hold a health and social care QCF level 3, are working towards or willing to complete Health and Social Care QCF Level 3 is a shortlisting criteria that may be used if there is a high volume of applications.
