SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the SEN teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and supporting students with SEN in classroom activities.
2. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they stay engaged and make progress.
3. Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and social development.
4. Support students in developing independent learning skills and managing their emotions and behaviour effectively.
5. Collaborate closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
Requirements:
6. Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting.
7. Strong understanding of different SEN conditions and effective strategies to support learning and behaviour management.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach.
9. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow guidance from SEN professionals and teachers.
10. A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with SEN.
