Location : UK Sector : Utilities Our client is a prominent and rapidly expanding UK Multi-Utility Infrastructure Provider seeking a dynamic and high-calibre Sales Director. This strategic leadership appointment is designed for a growth-oriented professional to spearhead the firm’s national business development strategy, driving revenue across electricity, gas, water, and fibre connection projects. This is a pivotal role for a sales leader who thrives on autonomy and high-stakes growth. The successful candidate will play a fundamental part in the company’s journey toward becoming the UK’s leading multi-utility connector. The Role The Sales Director will be the primary architect of the company’s market expansion. Reporting directly to the Board, the successful candidate will transform the firm’s sales function from a reactive bidding department into a proactive, high-performance growth engine targeting major UK developers and main contractors. Growth Strategy: Developing and executing a comprehensive national sales roadmap to increase market share within the sector. Pipeline Excellence: Overseeing the end-to-end business development lifecycle, from initial lead generation and networking to the final conversion of high-value multi-utility tenders. Key Account Management: Managing senior-level relationships with blue-chip housebuilders, industrial developers, and consultants, ensuring the firm remains the "provider of choice." Bid Leadership: Providing strategic direction to the estimating and proposals teams to ensure submissions are technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with client needs. Leadership & Culture: Leading and mentoring a national team of Business Development Managers, fostering a target-driven culture rooted in technical expertise and exceptional service. The Person The organisation is looking for a "hunter" with a sophisticated understanding of the UK utility landscape—someone who can navigate complex technical requirements while closing multi-million-pound deals. A proven track record of delivering significant revenue growth within the UK Multi-Utility, Power, or Civil Infrastructure sectors. Deep familiarity with the UK housing market, industrial developments, and the regulatory frameworks of NERS, GIRS, and WIRS. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a history of building and motivating high-performing sales teams.
