The Schroders Information Security team provides the scale and brand of a large financial services organisation with the freedom to be creative and nimble in how we work. Our team members are exposed to a wide set of technologies, people and opportunities and we expect them to make continuous iterative improvement to the defence of the firm.
We aim to avoid large projects with unclear benefits and overly restricting the team member's remits on specific security disciplines. Finally, we put great importance on the reputation of the Information Security team across the firm and value unconditional collaboration, understanding of business aims and pragmatic risk taking based on a clear understanding of the threat landscape.

The team
The Schroders Global Information Security team protect the organisation's information assets against an evolving threat landscape. ~60 security professionals around the world enable Schroders to deliver services to clients in a secure manner and defend those services against any attack on their confidentiality, integrity and availability.
What you'll do
Schroders Information Security department is looking for a talented Security Operations Analyst with a demonstrable interest in IT Security, to join an established SOC Team. Working within a larger Operations Centre, they will be responsible for receiving and managing global Cyber Security related incidents, ensuring the ongoing protection of the organisation's information.
The Security Operations Centre (SOC) operates a 'follow the sun' model with dedicated colleagues stationed across the APAC and Americas regions. Your role will incorporate a shift schedule, predominantly operating within the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 UTC. In addition, you will form an integral part of our weekend on-call & public holiday rota.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in IT, have a passion for Cyber Security, excellent interpersonal skills and be a strong team player.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
* Experience within a Security Operations Environment or Networks Operations Centre.
* Good knowledge of IT Security best practices.
* Proven experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
* A strong understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
* Good knowledge of networking concepts and technologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and resources and prioritise workloads.
* Works collaboratively, shares information, improves documentation and trains colleagues.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
* In-depth knowledge of security issues inherent in common corporate environments.
* Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ticketing platform
* Knowledge of Threat Intelligence Services advantageous.
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
* Exposure to at least one programming/scripting language.
* Knowledge of IDS/IPS principles.
* Knowledge of APT actors and their tools, techniques and procedures.
