This integration function has broad cross-functional engagement and is essential in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of engineering in each vehicle programme. Accountable for the Function (technical integration), Cost (budget for vehicle fleet), Timing (build and test to align with checkpoint & gateway cadence) and Quality (correct integrity at the correct time to deliver the correct metrics). Job Purpose: Support Vehicle Engineering Manager in coordinating vehicle engineering throughout the programme delivery phase, playing a key role in vehicle attribute, virtual series, DVP and prototype build activities to ensure products are delivered which meet customer and business expectations. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Overall Duties & Responsibility Support key Vehicle Engineering activities for Medium and Small scale programme(s) and current engineering), taking the programme(s) through technical checkpoints & gateways Coordinate assigned elements of technical programme health status into Tech Forum (engineering first line). Ensuring the right items are prioritised and supported by robust data and recommendation to ensure timely decisions are agreed Support assigned elements of Vehicle Integration Team (VIT) meetings to ensure progression of overall technical delivery and drive robust data to ensure timely decisions are agreed for cross-functional vehicle engineering issues across the programme(s) Coordinate specific issue resolution including design, architecture, attribute, DVP, build and fleet issues, ensuring the required monitoring and escalation is performed by the team through concern reviews, VIT, LCM, Start-Ups, PCM and Tech Forum where necessary. The vehicle engineering management team work across 4 key pillars; Vehicle attributes, Design Verification Plan (DVP), Virtual Series & Vehicle Prototype Vehicle Attributes Coordination of engineering status through attribute teams to deliver and maintain the Platform Bandwidth Requirements and Vehicle Technical Specification to ensure both subjective and objective qualification of the Product Attribute Leadership Strategy (PALS) Coordination of golden attribute vehicles and Vehicle Evaluation Team assessments. Golden and key proto vehicles need to have appropriate attribute / system / component qualification and spec tracking Design Verification Plan (DVP) Coordinate overall system and vehicle DVP activities, ensuring robustness is achieved at the right time and through the right means; Virtual, SIL, HiL, Labcar and Vehicle. Together with the system engineering teams, coordinate and report the overall DVP status to achieve the target timing and quality Coordinate fleet hardware and software pedigree ensuring fitness to test is achieved and spares, consumables requirements are centralised for commodity teams to order Virtual Series Coordination of overall virtual series; ensuring completeness and compatibility of data into virtual freeze and a defined output measurable against DVP for both geometrical and non-geometrical data Prototype Vehicles Coordinate definition required prototype vehicle builds, vehicle specification and bridging part definition, ensuring the vehicles are the correct pedigree for the required development activities Support containment sign-offs ensuring vehicle pedigree is fit for test purpose Support proto and production releases and sheet Cs to ensure engineering integrity, attribute performance and correct quantities and spares are ordered.
