Job Description:
Due to internal promotion, Hitachi Energy is now hiring a Global Product Manager for Network Control, Energy Management System (EMS).
Network Control is a fast-growing market enabling both energy transition and the control of renewable energy solutions. This key role involves consulting and collaborating to understand customer needs and providing tangible solutions to support product development. You will be a credible expert translating technical details for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior executives.
Your responsibilities include identifying problems, solving issues, and spearheading the development and implementation of new products, processes, standards, and operational plans. This dynamic role operates across multiple countries and time zones, offering opportunities for growth and career development.
EMS Overview:
EMS is part of Network Manager (NM), Hitachi Energy’s real-time, mission-critical network control solution. The EMS application suite includes advanced network applications used to help grid operators maintain secure, reliable, and efficient power system operations.
The Role:
1. Portfolio Management: Manage the Transmission Control product portfolio (EMS/SCADA) throughout its lifecycle, with responsibility for financial targets. Conduct business analysis of existing and potential new portfolio items, and contribute to decisions on obsolescence and end-of-life.
2. Product Strategy: Translate market requirements and business strategy into a global product portfolio. Position current and future products based on market and customer segmentation, and anticipate trends. Contribute to defining new product lines or strategies.
3. Market Analysis: Analyze market, technology, competitor, and customer requirements. Identify needs, opportunities, risks, and positioning against competitors, providing input for decision-making.
4. Product Business Plan: Define the business plan and pricing model. Make decisions on prioritization of development activities.
5. Customer Relations: Engage regularly with customers, manage escalations, and address non-conformities.
Background:
* 10 years of experience in the energy sector within a similar role, ideally with transferable skills.
* A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
* Financial and commercial awareness, including pricing and budget control.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills for integrating technical concepts into product solutions.
* Solution-focused mindset for product development, maintaining integrity internally and externally.
* Technical background in Electrical Engineering, aligned with problem-solving.
* Familiarity with software development tools for power systems.
* Flexibility to operate across time zones and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
* Ability to collaborate, consult, and drive change while engaging stakeholders.
