:
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the financial controls framework, working closely with internal audit and risk specialists to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Lead the compilation and maintenance of the control framework, identifying key risks and implementing strong operating controls to mitigate them effectively.
* Prepare the month-end reporting of the Group Balance Sheet and Cash Flows, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Take ownership of inventory accounting, including reconciliations against inventory systems and valuation, as well as fixed assets register maintenance.
* Be a key point of liaison between external auditors and internal stakeholders across various geographies to ensure a smooth audit process.
* Lead the preparation of an accounting manual, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
* Drive continuous process improvement throughout all the central finance procedures adopting best practice.
* Drive ad-hoc projects related to finance transformation and entity rationalization, focusing on financial control elements.
The Person:
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant ACA or ACCA
* Experience in financial controls frameworks, risk management, and compliance within a fast paced setting
* Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles.
* Experience of working across divisions and preparing consolidated financial statements.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the finance department.
* Sound business judgment and decision-making skills aligned with organisational goals.
* Ability to drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the financial controls function.
* Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure effective alignment with business objectives.
Location: We have bases in Nuneaton, London and Burton, a typical week in this role will be 2 x per week in Nuneaton. There may also be occasional travel outside of the UK.
