Sous Chef – Royston, Herts
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Royston
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join a busy and well established gastro pub in Royston. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef looking to work within a fresh food environment that values quality, creativity and teamwork.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day to day running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
2. Assisting in menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients
3. Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service
4. Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
5. Managing stock control and minimising waste
6. Ensuring consistent quality across all dishes
Requirements:
7. Previous experience working as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef within a gastro pub or fresh food environment
8. Passion for high quality food and attention to detail
9. Strong leadership and communication skills
10. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
11. Applicants must be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends
