Offer description

Teacher of History

Temporary, Part time

From April 2026 to July 2026

Closing Date: 5 March 2026

Applications are invited from energetic and well-qualified university graduates or teachers seeking to be part of a dynamic and well-resourced History faculty which teaches the subject from Year 7 to A- Level.

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified History teacher to join the school that arises from a member of staff taking maternity leave. History is a popular choice at A-Level and a subject which flourishes at all levels throughout the School.

This role can be adapted to suit the specialism of the successful candidate, whether it be for the whole age range to A-Level or a focus on Key Stage 3. Ideally, the successful candidate would be free to work 60% of a timetable, Tuesday to Thursday, but flexibility can be discussed at interview.

We are an inclusive school and welcome applications from people of all beliefs and backgrounds.

A willingness to make a meaningful contribution to the pastoral, extra-curricular and wider co-curricular life of the School is expected.

King Edward’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening, which includes successful clearance of an enhanced DBS check, receipt of satisfactory references and a pre-employment health questionnaire. We are an inclusive school and welcome applications from people of all beliefs and backgrounds.

Further details and an application form can be obtained from our website at or from the School’s HR Department at Recruitment@kesbath.com. The closing date for this vacancy is 9.00am on Thursday 5 March 2026 and the completed application form and letter outlining your suitability for the post, including your relevant experience needs to be sent to our HR Department via their email address Recruitment@kesbath.com. Interviews are likely to be held on 12 March 2026 .
