Role Summary:
1. React to breakdown maintenance requests within the required SLA’s.
2. Maintain technical awareness of computer room, call centre, and trader operations, including power, UPS, CPS, distribution, and cooling systems.
3. Perform repairs to modular UPS systems.
4. Test and diagnose power quality issues, including harmonic distortion, using onsite power analyzers.
5. Apply a risk-focused maintenance approach and operate plant and systems in data centres and critical environments.
6. Provide emergency response standby and call-out services.
7. Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
8. Respond to work interruptions, outages, or emergencies in accordance with the SLA.
9. Ensure all critical engineering maintenance documentation and records are kept updated.
10. Advise the Facilities Management Team of changes in critical environment requirements.
11. Willingness to work beyond contractual hours.
12. Undertake site surveys, produce work requests, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works.
13. Carry out upgrade and installation work.
14. Interpret technical drawings, instructions, processes, and O&M manuals.
15. Complete all reactive helpdesk requests promptly.
16. Monitor and analyze environmental conditions; review the loading and working conditions of critical equipment regularly.
17. Adhere to financial processes at all times.
18. Complete incident reports for all abnormal incidents affecting system availability, with drafts prepared within 24 business hours.
19. Determine root causes and necessary actions to restore system availability and prevent recurrence.
20. Review and submit actions to the Technical Services Manager, ensuring documentation is complete.
21. Enter relevant quotes and remedial works into the in-house system.
Experience Required:
1. 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations.
2. Experience working with building management systems, including fault finding and operation.
3. Experience with VAV systems, FCU systems, passive and active chilled water circuits, and chilled beams.
4. Understanding of HVAC systems.
5. Knowledge of the CDM process.
6. Excellent facilitation and communication skills at all levels.
7. Proven customer service delivery skills.
8. Ability to organize tasks and determine material requirements.
9. Experience with H&S procedures, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessments.
10. Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH.
11. Experience in testing and inspecting electrical systems.
12. Understanding of emergency response, standby, and call-out protocols.
13. Knowledge of utility and environmental monitoring programs.
14. Possession or former possession of an Authorised Person status (e.g., AP15/12).
