Free Running Explosive Detection Dog Handler
Rate: £15:50ph (Based on an average of 176hrs per month)
The hourly rate equates to a basic annual salary of £32,736 before overtime, plus an additional company pension contribution of 3%.
Hours exceeding 176 attract overtime renumeration at time and a half.
Bank holiday hours worked attract enhanced pay equivalent to double time.
22 days paid annual leave plus the 8 prescribed Bank Holidays.
Kennelling equivalent to leave entitlement provided by the company.
Please note below the package in relation to the provision of a work vehicle and fuel for company business. This removes any costs from an employee in relation to travel to and from the workplace.
Place of Work:
Operationally deployed within the London Heathrow Areas. The training will take place at our Training Centre in Farndish, Northamptonshire, accommodation will be provided during training.
Role Profile:
You will be required to work within a busy cargo environment, screening pallets of cargo to ensure they are free from explosive materials and countersign manifest documentation as a part of your search procedure.
You and your dog will be required to screen all suitable items and advise the cargo handlers of non-suitable items.
You will be required to house a company dog at home (all associated equipment and welfare aspects will be catered for and provided by the company).
A suitable vehicle with fuel card will be provided as a personal issue vehicle used for work purposes and canine welfare requirements. (Handlers must live within a reasonable commute to London Heathrow Area)
Handlers will need to be proactive and motivated and have a good understanding of the basic training required to maintain your dog’s standards of efficiency.
Care and control of 1 x ICTS Free Running Explosive Search Dog
* This includes off duty care and housing at the handler’s home address.
* Provide feeding, grooming, veterinary and welfare needs in compliance with animal welfare legislation (all associated costs provided by the company).
* Transportation of dogs and self to deployments and training (Company Vehicle and Fuel Card provided).
* Supervision and control of the dogs in compliance with legislation and BS8517.
* Evaluation and reporting of dog’s performance.
* High profile proactive patrols with dogs.
* Response to requests for dog and handler searches and investigation of unattended items.
* Provision of specialist advice where appropriate
* Promotion of security procedures.
* Compliance with ICTS Health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
* Compliance with ICTS and client assignment instructions.
Additional:
* Right to Work in the UK
* Vetting will be conducted to Counter Terrorism Checks level (CTC)
* Full Driving Licence (No more than 6 points).
