Cranleigh STEM is partnering exclusively with an innovative organisation in the sustainability sector to recruit a driven and self-motivated Deployment Manager. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in bringing cutting-edge hydrogen systems into live customer environments.
The role
You will lead the delivery of hydrogen systems and solutions to customer sites, ensuring deployments are completed safely, on time and fully compliant. You’ll act as the main point of contact for customers, lead a small site delivery team and take ownership of deployment activity end-to-end.
Key responsibilities
* Lead, manage and develop a team of three Deployment Engineers, clearly defining roles and responsibilities.
* Act as the primary customer contact during deployments, providing technical support and on-site assurance.
* Carry out site assessments to confirm suitability for hydrogen equipment and installations.
* Plan and manage deployment activities including budgets, schedules and standard operating procedures.
* Coordinate logistics, procurement and staffing for site installations.
* Produce deployment reports and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
* Deliver customer training on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
* Ensure all deployments meet site safety and regulatory requirements (RAMS, ATEX, DSEAR and related standards).
* Develop and maintain site safety documentation and ensure compliance with customer and industry regulations.
* Monitor deployment performance, resolve on-site issues and drive continuous improvement.
Key projects
* Immediate involvement in high-profile UK and international deployments.
* Ongoing UK projects with occasional overseas assignments.
What they’re looking for
* Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
* Working knowledge of hydrogen systems and site regulations (ATEX, DSEAR, BCGA, CDM).
* Proven experience leading site or field-based teams and managing live installations.
* Strong customer-facing communication skills and confidence operating on regulated sites.
* Experience with logistics planning, suppliers and safety documentation.
* Willingness to travel to UK sites (up to c.50%) with occasional international travel.
Personal attributes
* Self-driven, accountable and comfortable working autonomously.
* Diplomatic and professional when dealing with customers and stakeholders.
* A background in hydrogen, military, construction or process-improvement environments is beneficial but not essential.
