Lead Commercial Manager
Location: Bristol, London or Manchester on a hybrid basis
Contract: Permanent, full-time.

Your Impact
As a Commercial Lead, you’ll take ownership of some of the most significant and complex commercial packages on the project in CI/BoP covering the largest turbine in service in the world civil and nuclear construction works, major equipment, and enabling contracts. You’ll lead procurement, negotiation, and post‑award commercial management, working with key suppliers, regulators, and Tier 1 contractors. You will hold a key leadership role, shaping strategy, mentoring teams, and ensuring delivery aligns with project goals, contract requirements, and nuclear safety standards delivery on the on time, on budget vision.
Typically what you will be expected to do
Procurement
* Lead highly complex procurement activities
* Manage single source/competitive tendering and contract negotiation, leading to contract award
* Ensure value for money, transparency, and compliance
Post‑Award Contract Management
* Drive supplier performance and governance
* Mitigate risks and resolve commercial issues
* A proactive dispute management role focusing on dispute avoidance
* Provide strategic oversight across your portfolio
Supplier Development
* Take an active involvement in promoting Supplier Development and Supplier Relationship
Leadership
* Build and lead high‑performing teams
* Support and be a leader for team wellbeing
* Act as a key interface with regulators, external stakeholders and all delivery partners
* Embed collaboration and best practice across the supply chain and across the project
* Be an ambassador for project safety and people culture, and set an example for the project
Experience and Qualifications
* Senior‑level experience in commercial or supply chain roles on major complex infrastructure, energy and technology projects
* Expertise in procurement and post contract management
* A good understanding of dispute avoidance and effective management
* Strong knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
* Chartered status (RICS, ICE, CICES, IOB, CIPS or equivalent)
* Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills
Qualifications
* Ideally Degree‑qualified or equivalent
* Preferably experience in nuclear or regulated industries and
* Understanding of the UK nuclear regulatory environment and supply chain landscape
* Familiarity with safety case and licence conditions in regulated industries
