About the role
We're seeking a hands‑on individual to join our team as an OCC Sourcing Manager in our Recycling Division. You will be working within the Commercial function to implement the sourcing strategy for OCC actively ensuring supply within our cost and quality framework to support our Kemsley Mill site.
Your responsibilities will include managing the day‑to‑day activities for a portfolio of accounts and participate in the sourcing of suitable recovered OCC in line with quality and volume as per site requirements. You will be key in managing the day‑to‑day commercial relationships with your accounts creating account plans managing customer visits / audits and ensuring the services levels are exceeding our KPIs. As the key point of contact for our customers you will support your accounts from initial queries to invoices and payments and provide accurate forecasts and summaries as required to ensure customer satisfaction and operational service levels are met whilst delivering value to DS Smith.
Working with the External Trading Manager you will be managing external trading profitability as well as liaising with the appropriate administrative and support functions to manage all processes from service to invoice and payment. You will also identify related sourcing opportunities based off reviewing latest market trends and insight and work on the relevant tender processes to complete those new opportunities. There will also be opportunities to support the DS Smith Sales & Sourcing strategy by attending exhibitions and events as needed.
About you
* Proven experience in a similar role ideally within a related industry
* Excellent communication analytical and problem‑solving abilities
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels including senior management with both internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
* Ability to interpret data and financial information
* Demonstration of a high level of Industry & sector knowledge
* Strong IT skills with high competency required for most Microsoft Office applications including CRM systems
* An ability to work to and meet set deadlines both customer‑defined and internal
Location
Home based with travel to sites in Caerphilly with additional travel as required.

This role is part of the recycling reorganisation proposal and will be advertised internally for the relevant recycling employees.
