Post Summary
This post is intended to support the delivery of equitable access to radiotherapy for patients with oligometastatic disease suitable for radiotherapy by supporting the Oligometastatic SABR Teams across the 5 cancer centres in Scotland (Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness). The national role will be based primarily at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre with the aim of realising the vision of improving equity of access and expectation towards oligometastatic treatment for patients across Scotland. In addition you will run oligometastases clinics, lead the COMET‑3 and COMET‑10 national clinical oligometastases trials, develop novel research projects and spearhead the development of SABR for all organ sites suitable for SABR across the 5 centres.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of SABR for all organ sites suitable for SABR across the 5 cancer centres.

Run oligometastases clinics.

Lead the COMET‑3 and COMET‑10 national clinical oligometastases trials.

Develop novel research projects.

Collaborate with teams of oncologists, physicists, radiographers, research nurses, data managers, trials administrators and the R&D team to recruit and manage trial patients, ensuring quality standards and recruitment targets are met.

The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
