About Hampshire International Jamboree (HIJ)
Hampshire International Jamboree (HIJ) is a brand-new international event set in the heart of Hampshire in July 2028, bringing together thousands of young people and adult volunteers from across the UK and around the world.
Over a week-long camp, HIJ will offer adventurous activities, creative challenges, international experiences, and a vibrant community atmosphere — creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved.
HIJ is led and organised by a dedicated volunteer team, working alongside trusted partners and suppliers to deliver a safe, inclusive, and inspiring jamboree that celebrates the best of Scouting, Guiding, and international friendship.
Role Purpose
To develop and deliver the visual identity of Hampshire International Jamboree, ensuring a consistent and engaging brand across all platforms, materials, and experiences.
Responsibilities
· Create and manage the HIJ brand identity (logos, colour palettes, typography, style guidelines).
· Design materials for use across the jamboree (social media graphics, posters, banners, signage templates, merchandise visuals).
· Ensure brand consistency across all communications, merchandise, and event spaces.
· Work with the Comms team to bring campaigns, recruitment drives, and social media posts to life with strong visuals.
· Collaborate with Retail & Sponsorship to support the design merchandise and ensure sponsor branding is applied appropriately.
· Support Subcamps and Programme teams with brand-aligned resources and graphics.
· Capture and document the brand for future jamboree legacy and reuse.
Skills Required
· Graphic design and brand development experience.
· Skilled in design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent).
· Creative thinker with the ability to adapt design for different audiences.
· Strong eye for detail and consistency.
· Ability to work collaboratively with non-designers to turn ideas into visuals.
Time Commitment
· Active involvement from early in the jamboree planning cycle to establish the brand identity.
· Ongoing design support for campaigns, merchandise, and event planning.
· Availability in the run-up to and during the jamboree to deliver on-site branding and signage.
