CNC Miller / Setter / Operator
Location: Hemel Hempstead – Permanent Position
An established and highly respected precision engineering business based in Hemel Hempstead is currently looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller / Setter / Operator to join their growing team.
The company has been operating successfully for over 26 years and specialises in high‑precision machining work, predominantly supplying the motorsport, Formula 1 and gearbox sectors. Due to continued growth and increased workload, they are looking to strengthen their machining team within their modern, air‑conditioned facility.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate HAAS CNC milling machines.
- Work across 3‑axis, 4‑axis and 5‑axis CNC mills.
- Edit programmes on the machine when required.
- Produce precision‑machined components to tight tolerances.
- Interpret engineering drawings.
- Maintain high quality standards across all work produced.
- Support production requirements across a busy machining environment.
Machines & Software
- 3 × HAAS 5‑axis CNC mills
- 2 × HAAS 3‑ and 4‑axis CNC mills
- Hypermill programming software (offline support available).

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30
Friday 07:30 – 16:00.
Standard hours: 39 per week. Overtime paid at time and a half (1.5×). Regular overtime opportunities available.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 basic, dependent on experience and skill level. Overtime available in addition to basic earnings.

Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience as a CNC Miller / Setter / Operator within a precision engineering environment and be confident setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Experience with HAAS controls advantageous, along with exposure to 3‑axis, 4‑axis or 5‑axis machining.
- Programming experience using Hypermill or similar CAM software beneficial but not essential.
- Experience within motorsport, aerospace, automotive, Formula 1 or other high‑precision engineering sectors advantageous.
