Job overview
To provide clinical management, advice, support and teaching, education and training to all relevant personnel within integrated local services.
In collaboration with the Education Lead and service Leads, responsible for devising and providing direction, leadership, and implementation of the education, training, and development strategy for staff including district nursing and community matrons, in-patient rehabilitation units, @home service, and other community services.

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated clinical nurse/educator to work in the Practice Development team to develop high standards of practice and performance and to develop a comprehensive education program for out-of-hospital nursing in London.
We are re-orientating our nursing services to support self-care and independence, and for those needing nursing care, towards high standards of care and excellent patient experience.
We are initiating new educational programs to support newly qualified and community nursing staff, including developing, growing, and supporting new recruits and existing staff, including acute nursing staff on rotation from Guy's and St Thomas' to meet new ways of working in South London Community nursing services.
You will work across all services within ILS with a team of practice development nurses.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Organize and facilitate clinical teaching, supporting staff development and education.
* Teach and assess staff across disciplines, developing training programs and policies.
* Advise on health promotion issues for patients and colleagues.
* Review and develop the annual educational and training business plan.
* Represent ILS in course management and curriculum development, liaising with Higher Education Institutions.
* Provide support, advice, and counseling to staff.
* Develop comprehensive orientation packages and mentorship roles.
* Participate in the development and implementation of Clinical Supervision within ILS.
Person specification
* Post-registration qualification relevant to the service (e.g., Specialist Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner).
* Extensive post-registration experience, including at Band 6 or equivalent, with community or primary care nursing experience.
* Experience in developing educational programs relevant to the service.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability
* Knowledge of teaching techniques and understanding of learner needs.
* Understanding of confidentiality and professional accountability principles.
* Effective management, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills across disciplines.
* Ability to lead, manage, and motivate without direct supervision.
