Overview
To support our continued growth, we are recruiting for an experienced BIM Manager/Engineer. This role will give vital support to our Domestic and Commercial Building Services Design Departments. We are looking for a candidate who has the capacity to Coordinate and Quality Control technical drawings output on our MEP and low carbon building projects. The role will be predominantly desk based, but there will be opportunity to attend client and/or site meetings depending on the project, if you wish.
Key features of the role include:
As a BIM Manager/Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping and managing the digital design of complex construction projects. Your responsibilities will span across model creation, coordination, data management, and more.
Responsibilities
Model Creation and Management
You will create and manage detailed 3D building models using industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MagiCAD. These models will serve as the digital foundation of the project, integrating geometric data along with material specifications, cost estimates, and project timelines.
Collaboration and Coordination
You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment across all disciplines. Your coordination efforts will help detect and resolve potential design conflicts early, keeping the project moving efficiently.
Data Management
You will be responsible for organising and maintaining critical project data. From plans and schedules to budgets and documentation, you’ll ensure everything is current, accessible, and well-documented. You’ll also manage and distribute project outputs such as drawings and technical documents using BIM naming systems and filling work and outputs.
Clash Detection and Problem Solving
Using BIM tools, you’ll perform simulations and clash detection to identify issues before construction begins proactively.
Technical Support and Training
You will provide hands-on technical support to project teams and may also train others on BIM software and workflows. You will be required to create procedures and conventions for BIM usage. Your guidance will ensure that your team can confidently and efficiently use the tools required for project success.
Compliance and Quality Control
With guidance from the Technical Director, you’ll interpret building codes and industry regulations to ensure your designs meet all necessary standards. Throughout the project lifecycle, you’ll be responsible for upholding quality control and ensuring compliance at every stage.
Project Monitoring and Reporting
You’ll monitor project progress, delivering clear and timely updates to stakeholders. Your oversight will help ensure that the project stays on schedule and within financial targets.
