Overview:

To ensure that all health and safety and training administration is maintained so that it is up to date, accessible, rolled out, retrievable and accurate

Health & Safety and training

* Compile and issue all periodic Health & Safety and training communications in a timely manner.

* Attend meetings and communicate essential day to day Health & Safety and training matters.

* Participate in the management of return-to-work systems and restricted duty programs.

* Maintain a database of essential Health & Safety and training Key Performance Indicators.

* Monitor and communicate sufficient coverage for first aid and fire marshals.

* Record and communicate any Health & Safety related incidents, near misses and accidents.

* Deliver the site Health & Safety induction to all new employees ensuring that the content of the induction is clearly communicated, understood and recorded.

* Carry out weekly and periodic testing of site emergency systems and procedures.

* Participate in the Health & Safety Committee ensuring that new items and concerns are raised and that any actions are appropriately managed.

* Escalate any concerns to the Group Health & Safety Manager and Site Director immediately.

* You may be asked to undertake ad hoc duties as required.

* Manage and maintain a database of all H&S and training documentation ensuring that the latest versions are in place and accessible.

* Participate in the compilation of site Standard Operating Procedures.

* Create and maintain a training database ensuring that all training documentation is in place and that suitable training is recorded for each role.

* Ensure that all staff have a training and H&S plan and schedule that is specific to their job role.

* Ensure that all training is delivered to ensure maximum understanding. This may include classroom, theory, practical demonstrations, work instructions, and mentoring as appropriate.

* Ensure that all meetings, sessions and briefings are suitably planned.

* Keep the H&S and training communications systems up to date.

* Ensure that periodic refresher training is scheduled, carried out and recorded.

* Desirable – Experience within a FMCG operation.

* A broad understanding of the site processes.

* Experience of MS Word and Excel.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Ability to work as part of wider team to make effective changes in the business.

* Flexible regarding working times.

* Methodical with an eye for detail.
