About the Opportunity
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team based in our Birmingham office. In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing best commercial practices to maximize profitability and enhance financial performance on local projects.
We’re looking for a proactive individual with experience in NEC Option C contracts who can hit the ground running. If you have leadership experience and are ready to manage a small team, we want to hear from you!
Your Key Responsibilities
* Promote a safety-first culture throughout all project activities.
* Manage and mentor Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
* Review and interpret contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with contract aspects and liaise with project teams on status.
* Manage the agreement process for changes to contractual obligations.
* Oversee cash flow forecasting and the submission/receipt of payments.
* Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
* Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors.
* Provide accurate reporting on costs, projections, and margins.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
* Negotiate the settlement of the final account alongside the project team.
* Ensure all necessary records and reports are maintained.
* Assist in dispute resolution processes as needed.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience with NEC Option C contracts.
* Proven track record in managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP projects.
