As the demand for our expertise continues to grow, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Building Services Engineer to join our significantly experienced and talented Engineering Team based at our Plymouth office.
Our client list includes Formula One teams, high-end residential, commercial, retail, industrial, leisure and many more. As the Senior Building Services Engineer at Ridge, you will be exposed to many sectors and many cultures. Building Services Engineers design, install and maintain the services that are needed to allow the building to do what it's designed to. These services include heating, lighting, power and supply, lifts and escalators, health and safety, acoustics and security.
Role and Responsibilities
* Working as the Senior Building Services Engineer in a design team being responsible for mechanical and Building Physics design.
* Supervising and monitoring the work of junior engineers.
* Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD), BIM (Revit) and IES (Dynamic modelling) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project.
* Undertaking mechanical design calculations using industry standard software packages.
* Producing reports, drawings and specifications to suit RIBA design stages.
* Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors from both in-house and external project teams
* Attending a range of project group and technical meetings
* Carry out construction stage monitoring duties, including technical reviews and site-based inspections.
Experience and Skills Required
* Experience within a mechanical and building physics building services design role from either a consultant or contractor background.
* Having an accredited relevant degree or higher educational qualification in an applicable discipline (HNC/HND)
* To have achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status.
* Excellent communication skills and willing to work as part of a close-knit team towards a shared goal.
* Attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver high standards of client care.
