A prestigious boarding school in Dorset is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of its extensive estate.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of a large and diverse campus, including academic buildings, boarding houses, sports facilities, and grounds.
About the Role
The Estates Manager will take full responsibility for the maintenance, compliance, development, and long-term planning of the school estate. You will oversee site operations, manage contractors and estates staff, and ensure the highest standards of health & safety and statutory compliance are maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the estates and facilities team across a multi-building boarding campus
* Managing planned preventative maintenance and capital development projects
* Ensuring full compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and regulatory requirements
* Overseeing budgets, procurement, and contractor performance
* Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with strategic estates planning
This role requires a visible and proactive presence across the school site, ensuring boarding facilities operate safely and effectively 24/7.

The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience as an Estates Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar senior premises role
* Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and statutory regulations
* Experience managing large sites and capital projects
* Budget management and contractor oversight experience
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
