As Radiotherapy Services Manager at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, part of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, you will provide strategic leadership across a diverse and highly specialised radiotherapy portfolio, with influence at local, regional and national level.

Main duties of the job
As Radiotherapy Services Manager, you will lead a complex, multi‑modality service, including:
* A highly advanced External Beam Radiotherapy service
* The Gamma Knife Centre (All Tiers service)
* Brachytherapy services
* Molecular Radiotherapy Unit (MRU)
* Late Effects Service
You will play a key role in shaping long‑term service development, including the introduction of new technologies, expansion of capacity, and alignment with national policy and patient demand.
The role combines strategic and operational leadership, with responsibility for:
* Driving service improvement and innovation
* Leading quality, safety and governance, ensuring high professional and regulatory standards
* Influencing change following incidents and service learning
* Managing budgets and resources, including contributing to capital investment decisions
Working within the South West Radiotherapy Operational Delivery Network, you will collaborate with partners to support service development across the region.
We are nationally recognised for our specialist services and work closely with our local Higher Education Institute to deliver Master’s level modules.

Job responsibilities
To lead the radiotherapy service at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. The service treats approximately 3,000 new patients each year and operates within a wider Operational Delivery Network across the South West with eight other radiotherapy providers across the Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon and Gloucester (SWAG) and the Peninsula, Cancer Alliances.
The department has an extensive range of advanced equipment and techniques, supporting the translation of research into clinical practice and ensuring delivery of high‑quality, innovative patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* Professional qualification in therapeutic radiography leading to state registration with the HCPC
* Professional qualification in therapeutic radiography leading to state registration with the HCPC (e)
* Post graduate teaching qualification or relevant experience
* Evidence of expert clinical experience
Knowledge and Experience
* Substantial experience as a therapeutic radiographer across a wide range of specialties at junior and senior level (
* Ability to manage complex clinical and operational situations that involve staff from all levels within an organisation and across a range of professional and organisational boundaries
* Proven experience of leading and managing substantial change within a complex environment
* Substantial experience of budget and finance management
* Recent proven track record in managing and delivering the quality agenda in clinical practice in the NHS
* Have experience of preparing and presenting written briefings at a senior management level
Skills and Abilities
* Good organisational and personal effectiveness skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels including clinical staff
* Ability to prioritise work and manage deadlines, complex problem solver
