Job Overview
We are looking for qualified, enthusiastic and forward‑thinking technology risk professionals to join our successful team. You will work across the Northwest and beyond, contributing to the NHS’s care and services. Main Duties
* Perform a broad range of IT & Telecoms (IM&T) audit and advisory assignments, both complex/ad‑hoc and routine.
* Apply risk management and assurance principles at operational and strategic client levels.
* Supervise and coach junior staff and contractors.
* Respond to sensitive and complex queries from clients and staff.
* Keep up to date with technology risks and mitigating controls.
* Provide final reports to Audit Committees and Boards.
* Lead on supporting IM&T Audit Managers, interface with senior staff and Audit Committees.
* Conduct research to develop approaches to emerging auditable areas.
* Recommend significant changes to working practices, procedures, and service redesign.
* Manage complex system reviews focusing on control, information governance and asset safeguarding.
* Plan and organise work schedules, balancing routine and complex tasks.
* Deliver senior‑level consultancy work that adds value to the Agency.
* Build effective relationships with clients and across functions.
* Contribute to the appraisal process and continuous improvement philosophy.
* Fully comply with confidentiality policy.
Person Specification
Qualifications – Essential criteria
* QiCA/CISA qualified plus experience/knowledge/skills OR MIIA plus PQE in audit or a financial role OR Part‑qualified professional/accountancy or qualified technician accountant.
* Relevant degree with significant relevant experience in audit or finance.
Experience – Desirable criteria
* Supervisory experience.
Knowledge – Essential criteria
* Full and mature understanding of NHS structure, policy, functions and IM&T systems.
* Full and mature understanding of audit principles and practice.
* Full and mature understanding of fundamental IM&T risks, best practice and mitigating controls.
