Owing to continued growth and high demand for our services in the UK and Ireland, we are looking for a Solar PV Project Manager to join our global energy team in the UK.
You will lead the delivery of Solar PV owner’s engineering projects for clients in the UK, Ireland, and worldwide, ensuring they are appropriately resourced, delivered on time and within budget, and supporting our clients to increase project value while reducing risks. This includes coordinating internal and external resources, reviewing deliverables, origination and acceptance, adhering to budgets and timelines, liaising with clients, and internal reporting. The role may also involve preparing bids for new work and participating in other advisory projects as needed.
This is a permanent role offering excellent prospects for career development across various renewable energy technologies (wind, PV, CSP, BESS).
Role responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
o Guide and manage PV projects from inception to completion, ensuring all milestones are met.
o Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
o Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
o Provide technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
o Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.
o Manage site assessments and feasibility studies.
o Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
o Provide local expertise and guidance to the team.
2. Technical Support:
o Assist in preparing technical specifications and tender documents.
o Evaluate bids and proposals.
o Support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
o Manage performance assessments and troubleshooting of PV systems.
3. Stakeholder Management:
o Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, authorities, and communities.
o Represent the company in technical discussions and negotiations.
o Ensure transparent communication with stakeholders.
4. Quality Assurance:
o Implement quality control processes.
o Conduct site inspections and audits.
o Manage commissioning and acceptance testing.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial), experience in project management, and knowledge of Solar PV development, standards, and modelling software. Proactivity, problem-solving skills, independence, team collaboration, and proficiency in English are essential. Additional desirable skills include familiarity with UK/Ireland Solar PV development and relevant standards.
