Purpose of the role
To optimise and address Barclays' 3rd party spend requirements, including defining, developing, and implementing approaches for relevant spend categories, collaborating closely with the business, and executing strategic sourcing and buying channel development/optimisation.
Accountabilities
* Profile spend in the category area and develop understanding of business strategy, requirements, cost levers, and opportunities.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop RFPs, and ensure sourcing activities align with the bank's needs and priorities.
* Plan and execute sourcing events including RFP/RFXs, and negotiations to meet business requirements for value, speed, and compliance.
* Monitor and guide controls and compliance requirements throughout the sourcing cycle, including regulatory engagement, controls, audits, and data quality.
* Develop, implement, and operate policies and procedures for sourcing activities aligned with standards and regulations.
* Identify and deliver change opportunities to improve sourcing processes, including buying channel optimisation.
* Stay informed on industry trends related to sourcing and category management through conferences, training, and market research.
