The Grocery/Dairy/Frozen/Bulk Assistant is responsible for assisting the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the departments.

Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
* Providing excellent customer service as a top priority.
* Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence, and adhering to all policies.
* Creating inviting, full, and shoppable departments.
* Assisting in ordering and maintaining inventory for grocery, bulk, dairy, and frozen departments.
* Managing margins, COGs, and overall profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing purchasing efficiency.
* Ensuring products meet company standards.
* Offering and following up on special orders.
* Merchandising shelves, endcaps, and displays.
* Participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
* Training and monitoring department personnel and assigning tasks.
* Conducting demos and addressing performance issues.
* Supporting store opening and closing activities, including sales reports and cash handling.
* Handling register functions, managing customer returns, and addressing complaints.
* Maintaining safety and security.
* Answering customer questions and increasing product knowledge.
* Utilizing SAP and other software tools.
* Working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a 40-hour workweek and mandatory meetings.
* This position has limited Manager on Duty responsibilities but is not the overall Manager on Duty.
All employees are expected to be hands-on and contribute to the company's success.
Qualifications
Requirements for Success:
* High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
* 1 year of experience in grocery or retail, with natural foods background a plus.
* 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
* Ability to pass food safety training and maintain certifications.
* Ability to manage priorities and stay focused.
* Sense of urgency and excellent customer service skills.
* Highly organized with attention to detail.
* Ability to follow directions and perform cashier duties.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
