Software Engineer - Relocate to the UK!
Join to apply for the Software Engineer – Relocate to the UK! role at Omnea.
Our Mission We’re fixing the most broken process in business. Whether it’s SaaS, hardware, or contractors, a typical B2B purchase drags on for 3+ months, spawns 50+ emails, and pulls in multiple stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Security, and IT. Nobody likes it, and it slows businesses down. Omnea exists to change that. Our AI-native platform connects the people, steps, and systems so buying just works. Employees have one place to make requests, the right approvals run automatically, renewals and supplier risk checks are handled on time, and leaders get clear visibility into how, when, and why money is being spent. This matters more now than ever: volatile markets demand capital efficiency, businesses who adopt AI quickly have a competitive advantage, and evolving regulation demands evidenceable controls—so buying has to be fast and compliant by default. Founded in 2022, we’re trusted by global enterprises including Spotify, Adecco Group, Albertsons, Wise, MongoDB, and Monzo. Our team previously built Tessian (backed by Sequoia; acquired by Proofpoint) and we’ve raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, Accel, Point Nine, and First Round.
Relocation & Compensation We can provide Skilled Worker Visas (for you, your spouse, and any dependent children) and £8,000 in tax‑free relocation reimbursement for Senior+ Software Engineers looking to relocate from anywhere in the world to work in London (Hybrid, 3 days on‑site). Compensation Range: £80K – £135K.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an exceptional, product‑minded software engineer to join our engineering team & help scale Omnea from a start‑up to a scale‑up. You will support growth of our product, team, and company through each chapter as we go from ‘start‑up’ to ‘scale‑up’.
We are hiring at both the Level 3 (Senior) and Level 4 (Staff) level. Typically we expect candidates at this level to have around 5+ years of software engineering experience. You should be prepared to undertake a pair‑programming stage of the interview process in Javascript or Typescript and be assessed on that basis as if it has been your main language. We are hiring for full‑stack engineers; if you are only a frontend or backend engineer, mainly a dev‑ops/platform person, or have mostly been using a different language (e.g. Java) this likely isn’t a fit for you.
What Can You Expect in Our Tech Team?
* Join a skilled team of experienced full‑stack product engineers at one of Europe’s fastest‑growing early‑stage companies.
* Direct product impact: involvement in key product decisions, prioritising roadmap, defining project scopes, and technical direction.
* Work with modern tech: Typescript with React & Material UI, Postgres, Hasura, AWS Serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge), managed via AWS CDK & SST, with Sentry, Lumigo, LogRocket for observability and GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment.
* End‑to‑end ownership: from product, design, architecture, to deployment, monitoring, and measuring impact on users.
* Continuous delivery: deploying small incremental changes to production multiple times per day.
* Tackle scalability challenges as we grow our customer base and expand into new product domains.
* Collaboration & autonomy: work independently to take charge of projects, while collaborating with the high‑trust team.
* Customer‑centered: responsive to customer feedback, iterating products based on their input.
About You
* Experienced (typically 5+ years) with building web apps, designed and implemented features full‑stack, ideally using Typescript and AWS.
* Focused on high impact, having engineered critical systems with best‑in‑class tooling and observability.
* Understand building highly reliable, well‑architected products with quality, observability, and redundancy.
* Ready to build across the stack, solve problems, think from first principles, and pick up new skills quickly.
* Craving ownership of meatier engineering projects or deepening DevOps/SRE skills.
* Team builder, excited to help maximise team performance and provide actionable feedback.
* Comfortable handling ambiguity, making autonomous decisions with team support.
Nice to Haves
* Exceptional performance in academics, sport, work, or other areas; above‑norm achievements.
* Passion for engineering; contributions to open‑source projects or side projects.
