Engineering Technician - Onsite in Rhymney - Global life science leader
Location: Onsite in Rhymney
FTE: Full time - 12 months contract (with the view to extend)

About the Role:
Planet Pharma is working with a global leader in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, specializing in drug development, manufacturing, and delivery technologies. Their expertise includes biologics, gene therapy, and consumer health products. They support the entire product lifecycle, from development to commercial supply, and produce billions of doses annually.
Objective:
The maintenance technician will be responsible for front-line maintenance and breakdown response on a shift basis, working a rotating shift pattern. This role is crucial for maintaining production continuity at the Rhymney manufacturing facility. The main goal is to keep manufacturing assets safely operational to meet production targets through planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive measures across various equipment and systems.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
* Maximizing site uptime through planned and reactive maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
* Using plant metrics such as OEE and downtime to improve process equipment performance.
* Supporting the integration of new machinery and technology into operations.
* Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis across the site.
* Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained during engineering interventions.
* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and GMP compliance.
* Determining safety standards for new and existing equipment and installation methods.
Requirements:
* Understanding of clean room or controlled environment controls (HVAC, humidity, pressure cascades, etc.).
* Experience in electrical systems, operations, and maintenance, including site infrastructure systems such as HVAC, fire protection, and LV electrical networks.
* Proficiency in PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and ideally MS Project and CAD.
