This is a fantastic opportunity to join our large consulting client's Construction Innovation team, part of their larger Major Programme function, which has grown their revenues from £1m to £4.9m in 3 years. Eighty per cent of this team's work is predominantly focused on delivering large and high profile public sector projects and programmes of work within areas such as healthcare, defence, housing and green energy. * Designing and Mobilising Major Projects/Programmes;

* Developing Project/Programme/Portfolio management capability within our clients; and
* Making sure accountable individuals and teams can sleep at night via expert, real-time assurance.
The role:
The things they do are wide-ranging and require plenty of entrepreneurial ability and intellectual curiosity; a desire to truly understand what makes a client’s organisation tick! The role will require a skilled individual that is adaptable and has experience in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary technical team. An understanding or willingness to learn about project management, construction, and organisational transformation will be required. Experience in translating highly technical information to a broad audience in non-technical terms.
The role requires a breadth of management consultancy experience – ideally gained from another leading consultancy. The team you will be joining focuses on construction innovation, which deploys the very brightest of thinking to help their clients to deliver their capital pipeline cheaper, faster, greener and safer. Candidates must possess a detailed and practical experience of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
As one of the senior consultants on the ground, you’ll be applying your experience every day, bringing to life tailored solutions for their clients whilst managing important relationships and stakeholders.
It’s a demanding job, helping to solve some of the most complex challenges in infrastructure. You will therefore possess the necessary grit and determination to reset and try a different approach. You will work within a highly collaborative, high performing team where failure is celebrated. Specifically, your day-to-day involves:
* Being part of a high-performing, multi-disciplinary consulting teams. This role requires a significant amount of interaction with highly technical teams. A post-graduate education in Engineering or equivalent technical field would be highly beneficial.
* Supporting in the delivery of client-facing work within specialist areas, ensuring new processes and tools are designed with a strong human / end user focus – this includes producing high-quality outputs with serious attention to detail. A skillset or experience in facilitation of senior-level workshops will be given preference.
* Working closely with our clients to truly understand their world and problems to ensure that the service we provide continually adds value.
* Looking after financial aspects of an engagement - ensuring we keep clients informed of costs and time incurred, in addition to raising invoices and recovering fees.
* Creating high- and low-level integrated plans across multi-discipline workstreams.
* Creating as well as directing the creation of high impact presentational material that help to describe complex problems to non-technical audiences.
* Business development – you will play a pivotal role in seeking new work opportunities in addition to following up leads and developing your own client portfolio.
* Keeping up to date with specific (technical) developments affecting your work, identifying opportunities for thought leadership and assisting with the development of a Firm opinion in your specific technical area. This role requires knowledge, understanding or willingness to learn about infrastructure construction and/or design. Previous experience or skills in change management, technical assurance, understanding of AGILE project management (or similar) techniques, as well as knowledge of stage/gated processes are beneficial.
* Understanding the broader suite of services offered by the Firm and identifying opportunities to collaborate and design unique solutions for our clients. Previous experience in risk management and decision analysis techniques are preferred.

For this opportunity, we’re looking for candidates with a strong consulting background - primarily built around the delivery of major Projects/Programmes.
Your track record should evidence:
* Experience working within a consulting or corporate environment.
* Ability to deliver impactful presentations; translating complex themes in to easy to digest formats.
* In-depth experience of applying Project, Programme and/or Portfolio management – and a passion for improving the outcomes of critical infrastructure programmes.
* A foundation of excellent academics and good career progression to date.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* An ability to build and maintain great relationships and a desire to network across our firm.
* A good spread of experience using different software/applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Oracle P6, Slack, Power BI).
Experience in one of the following areas would also help you stand out – but it’s not essential:
* Delivery of targeted business process improvement(s) in relation to capital investment Portfolios and major Projects/Programmes.
* Delivery of development and execution of major projects/programmes.
* Delivery of advisory services such as organisational design and governance optimisation.
* Working in partnership with clients to shape strategic direction and helping them to go out and implement.
* Performance and efficiency improvement.
* Enhancing Project and Programme governance and decision-making processes.
* Experience in facilitation of senior stakeholder workshops and/or capturing and communication of lessons learned reviews.
* Experience with back on track troubled project reconciliation Project/Programme reviews.
* Ability to develop a coherent strategy when working within a highly ambiguous environment.
