Carpmaels & Ransford
Posted: 11 December
Offer description

Carpmaels & Ransford are a leading European intellectual property law firm.
Through their passionate and award-winning team of life scientists, engineers and regulatory experts, they advise some of the world’s leading healthcare companies.
Each year, Carpmaels recruits a number of exceptional STEM graduates, supporting them through to qualification as a UK and European patent attorney. Opportunities exist within their Chemistry, Biotechnology and Engineering & Tech practice groups.

Carpmaels & Ransford are hosting a Black Heritage Student Insight Programme for STEM students from all year groups – ranging from first years to those undertaking further study, including PhDs.

You will hear from a variety of people at different stages of their career journeys, receive helpful hints and tips for joining the profession and participate in practical activities which offer a taster of the day-to-day role. 13:00 – Student Arrival
13:20 – Welcome and overview of event
15:10 – Interactive group workshop
17:10 – Closing remarks and networking
If you are interested in exploring career options outside of the lab, whilst putting your degree to good use in a rewarding and intellectually stimulating profession, Carpmaels would love to meet you.

You will have the chance to ask any questions you have about the firm or roles within the company before potentially submitting an application to become a graduate trainee with them.
In addition to working on cutting-edge technologies and landmark cases, graduate trainees enjoy a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.
The event is open to black heritage STEM students from relevant technical disciplines.
Students should be studying towards, or have already attained, a minimum 2.1 undergrad degree.
Students should have achieved a minimum of ABB at A-level with 2 STEM subjects.
The firm welcomes interest from individuals in their first year of undergraduate study and beyond.

Stage 1: Submit your up-to-date CV, making sure to include your achieved or predicted undergraduate grade, as well as the A-level subjects you studied and the grades you received.
Stage 2: Be invited to write a paragraph on why you would like to attend the Black Heritage Insight Event.
