We’re partnering with a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit in Bargoed, Caerphilly, to recruit a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant. What You’ll Be Doing
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support for learners aged 11–18.
* Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
* Working closely with teachers to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
* Encouraging positive behaviour using consistent, supportive strategies.
* Offering tailored support to students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including:
o ASD
o ADHD
o Dyslexia
o Social, emotional & mental health challenges
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to come from a traditional education background—what matters most is empathy, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships.
We welcome applicants with experience in:
* Behaviour support, ALN/SEBD roles
* Youth work, mentoring, community roles
* Support work, care work
* Sports coaching (football, rugby, boxing, etc.)
* Police, prison service, armed forces or cadets
* Teaching assistant roles or similar
You should be:
* Confident using positive behaviour strategies
* Calm, patient, and able to motivate young people
* Passionate about helping students succeed—both academically and emotionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
